Accountability

We take ownership of goals to deliver results. We honor commitments. We hold ourselves and others accountable. We focus on accuracy, admitting mistakes and learning from them.

Teamwork

We collaborate within and across departments to meet our shared goals. We share skills and knowledge to teach or assist others. We offer support without being asked. We include, acknowledge, encourage, praise, and advocate for others.

Client focus

We listen to clients with an open mind. We act with integrity, curiosity, accountability, and teamwork to meet our clients’ needs. We are solutions-oriented and we deliver a superior product to clients in a timely manner.

Our culture

Being part of the flock

We are one team; collaboration is central in everything we do. As a highly talented, richly experienced, globally based workforce, we celebrate and appreciate our differences while sharing our five core values.

Our Culture Champions Committee facilitates communication at all levels, and our talented team members oversee a wide variety of social clubs, including a book club, Heron Pride, a cooking club, a photography group, a writing workshop, a parenting group, and an exercise group. Blue Heron’s flock is just under 50% female, and we actively support and champion women in finance. Our women’s empowerment group, the Blue Heroines, gives staff members the chance to interact with engaging speakers who have navigated the challenges and opportunities for women in finance firsthand.

We have offices in New York and London, and we host regular in-person events at both. We offer true flexibility in remote work, and we ensure that our culture and sense of community translate to our virtual work environment. We provide allowances for those not based near an office to meet up with other remote colleagues in person.

Talent development

Blue Heron is passionate about professional development. We have structured training to set employees up for success in their roles and long-term careers. Defined career paths show employees how they can progress, and managers work with employees to explore career goals. Whether an employee aspires to people management, function expertise, or industry sector expertise, we encourage mobility in different departments within the company, providing a clear plan and maximum visibility into promotion opportunities.

Alongside promotion opportunities, we also run several initiatives for general knowledge sharing and personal development. We have regular lunch-and-learn sessions with external industry experts. Our Connection program provides networking and career development opportunities for employees to be paired based on their goals and to learn from experienced colleagues. We also offer financial sponsorships for external continued education for accredited courses.

Rewards and benefits

We recognize and celebrate success and achievements. We offer:

  • true flexibility in remote work and work-life balance;

  • competitive salaries;

  • transparent, performance-linked bonus schemes that are paid out twice annually;

  • 401K/pension schemes with employer matching; and

  • comprehensive medical and dental plans for employees and their families, plus other health and well-being perks.

We are a global company, so benefits will differ based on local laws and norms.
